Registration

This is Father Joseph who is the head of the Dom Bosco trade school. He is signing our legal agreement which is the final step for us to purchase a busbar machine for the school. We have to write up the agreement and then have it approved and edited by the legal staff in the area office in Hong Kong. Fortunately we have done enough of these now that we know the wording that should be in the document.
This is a prototype of 1 of the electrical switches that they will make with the purchased machine. They will make everything but the electronic circuit breakers here at the school. They already have an order for 1,000 of them.
This is the exterior of the house that our investigators live in. It is one of the nicer houses in the area. It really gives you perspective. This is a very hard-working couple with two incomes and this is the best they can do here.
It's remarkable how gentle the weather is here. Even though it's hot and humid it's never too windy or stormy. This is really fortunate considering how fragile the majority of the structures are. Even the waves are never very high here. This is the highest surf that we've seen since we've been here. It's probably an average surf for Southern California. With this surf being higher than normal it did wash out a portion of one of the major roads.
One of our English lessons is about teachers. Here is Cheryl's teacher picture for the PowerPoint presentation
We had  English class registration this week for the returning students. Registration started at 4. When we arrived at 3:30 to open up the building they were already lining the sidewalk.
We had the students wait outside on the porch and we invited two in at a time to register them. The two here next to Cheryl are students who were helping with the process. Overall we registered 75 students.
It was raining so all the students had to squeeze in on the porch. It's hard to believe that this is our third semester of classes. Luckily it keeps getting easier and there's not so much lesson preparation. However, this year we're offering an advanced class so we had to create a curriculum for that.

Each semester goes for about 20 weeks and is two classes a week. Next week we have registration for new students. Are we have about 75 slots open. In the past we've put a banner in front of the church advertising the classes. This year all advertising is word of mouth and our Facebook page. Judging from the inquiries that we've gotten we should be able to fill all of the slots.
