Visitors
Beautiful Skies here. It's great to live where there is no smog.
He visited church last week. I forgot his name. He works for the US government and was here to facilitate some sort of personnel change. He was here for only a couple days. How we found out about the church was that he saw a picture of the Hong Kong Temple in Eden's laundry drop off service. This is Nikki one of the members of our group. We take her out to dinner usually when we go to home teach her. She is single and doesn't get out much. She works at the Filipino Embassy
Edin is another one of our members. She came over to our house for dinner on Sunday. She is a very resourceful woman. She has a cleaning service, laundry service and a party planning business. She recently sent her three young children to live with their grandparents in the Philippines so they could get better education and for one speech therapy. The kids are very active so we never had them over when they were all here together.
The store has been out of butter for the last few weeks and so we finally ran out and had to buy some canned butter. It's not too bad but not as good as regular butter.
There was a cruise ship in this weekend. It brings back old memories about how life used to be.
This is the tender boat for the cruise ship. It brought back old memories on how we used to visit third world countries for a few hours and then quickly get back on board for a nice dinner and entertainment. We always wondered what life was like for the people that had to stay in the third world countries.
This is a fisherman out in the afternoon selling his daily catch. You can tell he used a net because all of the fish are the same size and type. The children and the lady in the middle were visitors at church this week. She her two daughters and her husband, who is not in the picture, are all members of our English class. She had a dream that encouraged her to come to church. The challenges is that the family is not fluent in English. Luckily warlito, on the right, was there today and could translate and do some teaching. I feel sorry for visitors who don't speak English because it's so difficult to get the message and the impact of the Gospel when you only understand a little bit. It's frustrating. Still no word on when and if full-time missionaries will be coming here.
